Dad’s Driving Advice Kept My Mustang Rolling

I remember as a kid, my father’s feet sticking out from under his 1968 GTO.

I would sit on the pavement listening to his voice echo from under the car.

Dad dispensed a lot of advice with his back to the pavement.

When it came to driving, he only gave one line of advice.

“Never, and I mean never change the radio station.

Keep it on rock and roll. Everything else will just come naturally.”

At nineteen I got a 1967 Mustang convertible.

Dad gave me the same advice “Most accidents happen when you look away from the road.

Never change your radio station or you won’t have this car for long. Just keep it on rock and roll.”

Twenty five years later I drove my Mustang cross country to California

listening to The Beatles Rubber Soul CD

that I picked up at

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.

I was thankful to have music in my head and my Mustang after all this time. When it came to driving advice my dad really did know best.

My phone got swiped last night…

I was bummed all day and then I opened an email from Apple about The New iPhone4.

It is so cool.

It snaps photos that I can use with my writing (magazine quality).

It has a movie-making app, a bookstore and video-chat

I will be able to see your face when we talk on the phone.

Just think of the things we can do together.

Hmmm…

Life is better to me than I realize sometimes.

Rolling Stone Predicts My Death and You’re Invited to the Funeral

Years ago I got a phone call from Rolling Stone.

They told me that in return for being a long time subscriber

and supporter of the magazine,

I had been selected as a charter member for a lifetime subscription.

“Ummm… yes please.”

I’ve always had a love affair with Rolling Stone – going right back to the first issue I ever touched.

I remember the cover so clearly, Stevie Nicks in bed with Fleetwood Mac.

Hooked I tell ya…

I wasn’t even ten years old and I was hooked.

I used all the money I had for pinball on that magazine.

Stevie Nicks was where it was at for me.

That was issue 235, issue 1105 came to my mailbox last week with Keith Richards on the cover.

( I did not get the Mick Jagger cover, but Lisa Morse did! )

I was just as excited to find that magazine in my mailbox as I was as a kid so long ago.

The meaning of a lifetime subscription didn’t really hit me until today.

I just looked at the date, it expires:

December 14, 2056.

This is the date Rolling Stone predicts I will die.

In case you are wondering, it’s a Thursday.

Mark your calender.

That means I haven’t even lived half my life yet.

It also means I am going to live till I’m 89 years old.

I like that.

46.5 years left to live.

The Roof, The Roof, The Roof is on Fire.

In the immortal words of Rock Master Scott & the Dynamic Three

“The roof the roof the roof is on fire
We don’t need no water let the motherfucker burn
Burn motherfucker burn”

Well it sounded good till someone got hurt anyway…

Fitchburg Fire Fighter Phil Jordan Jr. fell through the roof fighting a 5 alarm fire at Swagger Nightclub today and was transported to UMass Medical.

Phil is OK. CAT scan showed no broken bones and no internal injuries, just very sore.

I hope he made it home tonight.

Now lets add some Dirty Burg Drama to the story:

“That’s crazy…we drove by a few days ago and saw people moving stuff out with a U-Haul…now a fire. Wow.”

Seems shady to me.

This building and I have a long history.

I started as a cocktail waitress at CR Goody’s

and ended up

Owner and CEO of The Compound.

I don’t know what caused the old Compound building to catch on fire.

Whatever happened it makes me sad to see anyone get hurt

and the building go up in flames.

Goodbye to Dio May 30th

I checked my Facebook and there it was, DIO – RIP.

It hit me so hard. I started crying and closed my laptop.

Flashback to the AM radio reporting Elvis was dead and watching my mother fall to the kitchen floor crying.

Neither of us had met these men but we loved them.

Elvis and Dio were not just legends in rock and roll, they were our first concerts.

They were were not just men, they were symbols of our youth.

I think that’s it, what upset me so much…

Ronnie James Dio is more than the guy who invented metal horns and replaced Ozzy…

Dio was my youth. Gulp.

So this is my Mob Rules Shirt from 29 years ago….. Can’t believe it still fits.

There will be a memorial service down in LA at The Hall of Liberty May 30th to pay respects.

That is when I am saying goodbye to Dio for the final time.

I think I’m going to wear my shirt.

Anna Place, The Former Nightclub Owner of

I remember I came in the Compound Nightclub in my hometown.. It’s huge building with 2 floors. One floor for Live Music which was every weekends, and downstair has DJ Live with dance area with nightclub’s famous light show and video effect on projector behind the bar and the jail set was there.

I was thought of “other side’s other club” but it not true. but it is just a nightclub. I started going there every weekend which i made some new friends over there.

Also I met Anna Place who is the Former of Compound Nightclub’s owner, she very good women. I just show up for Korake night which I am curious about that… I made friends that night and I started to ask for job but it not really happen but few weeks or month later, Anna interested me to to work because i do hard work for this club as security staff for Tuesday nights. then after that, i started come in for weekend, I started to help the stocking of Beers and shits.

I do started to talk with Anna as being new friend. she very good women as i said mentioned about. I like her as being my friend because she understand what I am doing as being Deaf. Sometime we do Texting on cell phone or email. sometime wrote down the paper to commutation with me.

After that, I made friends with Bartenders who worked there. they are so good people. after the great way to meet them. One night, I got accidentally going protect from fighting as caused my left brows busted open when i was supposedly to stop this but my mistake to jump into there. I know I hate Drama. but I learned my lesson about it. I don’t need being security someway but just watch and tell other staff what going on beside. Anna not happy sometime when bad things come in and screwed it up. I still supported her no matter what as what friends for. Sometime She asked me to doing work at daytime as cleaning shits.

Until Last night of Club before Shutdown, someone told me about what happen at this club, it make me feel sadly to see this shutdown… but Anna asked me to help out to clean the shit out and move the stuff in the trailer, and the club was empty as u image this, that’s take lots of hours to done it. Now Compound is out and new club come in, which I don’t want go there because i don’t interesting to see what the different. but I like to keep Compound there but oh well. I love Compound already because it make me feel fun and socialized with people every time when I seen them.

That’s why I am decided to writing about it because I wanted to Honor Anna who owned The Compound Nightclub. I love her as being great friend, I know she had hard time or not, I still supported her no matter what. I love u, Anna Thank u for being running the Compound nightclub. I missed that already. Poison’s Bret Michaels back in the Hospital

Bret Michaels is back in the hospital with hole in heart

Poisons Frontman and reality TV star suffered what doctors call a warning stroke & has been diagnosed with a patent forum ovale, or hole in the heart, according to a report today on his website.

Bret was hospitalized after experiencing numbness on the left side of his body, particularly in his face and hands.

Doctors say the condition is operable and treatable and likely unrelated to the brain hemorrhage the 47-year-old suffered last month.

Michaels’ neurosurgeon said that while the Poison frontman has a “fantastic attitude” about making a full recovery, “Bret’s brain and body are not quite 100 percent yet, especially with the hole found in his heart.”

Doctors said Michaels is currently being treated with a daily injection of a blood thinner to reduce the risk of clots.

Michaels was “up, walking, talking, continuing his daily rehab and very happy to be alive.”

“He has made it clear he is sick and tired of being in the hospital and is ready to rock again,” the singers website says.

Donald Trump‘s “The Celebrity Apprentice” in New York may now be in question.

Oh Damn…I am on Myspace to find a MP3 that Shelby, Darla and I recorded with Dave Caira a couple summers back- Called GIRLS NIGHT OUT! All I wanted was the tune on my ipod before I hit 24 hour fitness tonight and up pops the instant messenger. Ohhh I knew better. Jake Smith…21 from Santa Barbara & Boston. I knew better than to respond to this one yet the temptation was too great for me. I pressed the button. I did it.

What do I get? A SBCC student throwing out his best lines: So you single? and yes I have a thing for more mature women…I’ve never hooked up with a mom before… I tell him I don’t think so right now… you gotta be 21 to ride this ride. The kid asks “Don’t I get a free ride?” That is some funny shit right there. Nobody rides this ride for free.

I shine brightest in the dark of night

I was interviewed by Rocknrolla Magazine last week and they wanted to know what

The Queen of Nightlife was up to…

My answer was a lot.

I told what I could,

I wanted to tell everything but I couldn’t.

There are couple reasons for that:

Under the sage advice of Brett Scallions, the former lead singer of Fuel, it was suggested that it would betray the trust of many friends if I did a “tell all” book or interview.

#2 My lawyers and publisher have suggested I don’t say anything about the past for a few more years.

So I would if I could but I can’t so I won’t.

That leads me here, to this blog, were I have decided to write just a bit of what goes on. Tell you about The Queen of Nightlife.

Not The Compound drama that shed so much blood along with thousands of amazing nights but

the thoughts of Anneliese.
